The 2009 Midget Championship Games
Congratulations
Tier I Champion Edmonton Chargers
and
Tier II Champion Sherwood Park Rams!

Chargers, TiCats and Ravens Take the 2008 Titles
The Edmonton Chargers were successful in capturing the 2008 Tier II Midget Championship with a 48-7 drubbing of the Edmonton Eagles.
In the Tier III game, it was the Leduc TiCats over the Edmonton Mustangs in a much closer affair, with the final score 34-28.
The Fort McMurray Ravens were successful in edging the Leduc StrayCats 14-11 to capture the Tier IV title.
Congratulations to the Chargers, Mustangs and Ravens on your titles, and on your great seasons in 2008.
2007 Midget Tier II Champion Edmonton Silver Raiders
Congratulations to the Edmonton Silver Raiders on winning the 2007 Tier II Midget Championship game over the Parkland Bandits. This was a very hard-hitting game, highlighted by an aggressive Parkland defensive scheme that required a very gutty Raider attack. The Raiders were able to take advantage of a few breaks and in the end were able to come away with the victory.
In the Consolation Final the Leduc Chill, in their first CDMFA Midget season, pulled away late in the game from the Edmonton Seahawks to take the Consolation title.
Congratulations to the Silver Raiders and the Leduc Chill on a great season in 2007!
THE
2006 CHAMPIONS ...
Well
the second season of Midget Football is over. From the lightest
player at 110 lbs., to the heaviest at 350 lbs., and from the
shortest at 56 in. to the tallest at 79 in.. From Grade 8
to Grade 11, approximately 450 players participated this
Season playing 30 Games over 5 weekends. Coming
from as far away as Fort McMurray players learned, developed
and gained more experience to play the Game they LOVE ...
FOOTBALL !! Most importantly everyone gathered more friends
and had a bunch of FUN !! THANKS TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATED
and TO THE MOMS and DADS, SISTERS and BROTHERS AUNTS, UNCLES,
FRIENDS and just the CURIOUS ... it was GREAT TO SEE YOU
IN THE STANDS !!
With
determination and true focus the Sherwood Park Rams went
undefeated in
2006 and captured the TURF WAR prize for the TIER I Championship.
And our team from the North also went on undefeated as they
captured the TIER II Championship. Both games featured hard
fought battles as congratulations go out to the Tier II Edmonton
Eagles and Tier I St. Albert Storm as they played hard and
proved to be worthy opponents.
It
is of interesting note that 2 of the Finalists in this year's
TURF WARS were brand new TEAMS ... can't wait till next year
as the battle will be waged yet again ... thanks everyone
for making this 2nd Midget Season full of GREAT FOOTBALL
!!! ... Make sure you go to the Eye Captured Images Site
to get some incredible memories through photos of this Season's
action by clicking on the above pictures ... enjoy.

NEWSFLASH: THANKS
MIDGETS ... PLAYERS AND FANS!!!
Was
that a show or was that a show ! Our first ever Midget Season
came to a close this weekend and by the numbers of people in
the stands and the dedication, talent and pride of the players
... this was truly a huge success. Thanks also to the MANY
volunteers that made it all possible ... one can not say it
enough that without the wonderful volunteer spirit it would
never happen ... THANK YOU !
So the morning began with the Sherwood Park Wolverines
playing the Fort McMurray Ravens ... it
looked like the Ravens were in control as they walked off
the field at half time with a 16 - 0 lead. But the Wolverines
showed that you could not keep a good team down and managed
to come from behind and claim victory ... Final Score
Wolverines 20, Ravens 16. Next
it was up to the second place finishers to claim their Tier
Championship and the Outlaws from Parkland were not going
to be denied ... taking in what seemed to be total control
the Outlaws were just too much to handle for the Sherwood
Park Northstars. The Outlaws scored first and never looked
back. Final Score Outlaws 31, Northstars 0.
Finally it was up to the two top Teams to show their stuff
and that they did ... a very hard fought TURF WAR indeed.
With the Sherwood Park Rams taking the lead
right off the start the Edmonton Raiders would
simply not roll over and hand victory over to anyone but
themselves. Keeping the Rams to no points in the second half
the Raiders scored 18 points themselves and managed to win
one of the best games at this level that you will likely
see. Final Score Raiders 18, Rams 8.
So this was it ... bragging rights
for the rest of the year from "Midget
2005 Bowl"There were only winners this year as we proved
beyond a shadow of a doubt that Midget Football at CDMFA
is here to stay !!! Friendships made, skills developed with
memories and relationships that will last a lifetime ...
see you next year and THANKS to all of you for making it
possible !!!
